DIY Swarovski "Floral" Cup chain necklace

Making Spring Rose Gold necklace with Gita's new cup chains.

26/03/2019

"Floral" cup chains by the meter

We gladly introduce you to Gita's new floral cup chains by the meter. It is fresh, it is new, and you can not get them anywhere else. What else can we  say about the new Floral cup chains that Gita offers? We love them, and we are positively sure that you will love them as well. In this collection, you will find dozens of empty cup chains in different sizes (32pp, 24/29/39ss) decorated with leaves and flowers.

The new Cup Chains are handmade and are produced using various manufacturing techniques

including stamping metals and metal casting. So their price is a little bit high - but if you keep reading, you will realize that you don’t need much of them to upgrade almost any piece of jewelry - so we believe that this is the right investment. The new cup chains are available in 21 metal plating colors that Gita offers (there are few cup chains that cannot be plated in antique colors). The products are plated using Electroforming technique.

Okay, so, what can you do with Gita's new cup chains?

Even if  you know how to work with the cup chains by the meter - here is a slightly different product.

In this tutorial, we will learn a little more about the new cup chains and will create a necklace that demonstrates the potential of these products.

Making a Rose Gold plated floral necklace with Swarovski crystals

1. Step one: Cut the cup chain to the desired length

To create the centerpiece we will combine two types of cup chains (PIC 1); you can, of course, combine any other.

Use the cutter tool to cut the metal bar that connects the stone settings of the cup chains. Remove the rest of the bar from the stone settings.

2. Step two: Connect the parts using the new "cup chain end loop squeezing tool."

It is time to introduce you to the new tool we developed specifically for this purpose - this tool was designed together with the development and production department of Beadsmith;

you can purchase it right from the list of components of this tutorial (PIC 2).

The whole trick of this tool is to squeeze the end of the bar so the connecting point will be strong and will look natural (PIC 3,4).

Put the cup chain bar into the second cup chain, and with the help of the tool, squeeze it until the edges are crushed. Make sure the connection is strong enough and will not fall out.

and there you go - you've just created a new cup chain combination at this very moment (PIC 5,6).

3. Step three: Connect End loop to cup chain

Insert the End loops into the hole of the stone setting of the centerpiece we have just created and squash it the same way as described above using the "cup chain end lop squeezing plier". Make sure it is strong (PIC 7).

Note: when there are small size settings you can make the End loop connector shorter by cutting its edge using a cutter tool (PIC 8).

4. Step four: Connect the chain and clasps

Using 4mm jump rings connect the chain to the loop we created on the centerpiece Make sure the length of the necklace is, minimum, of 40 cm and cut the chain accordingly - it is recommended to work with a ruler and place all the elements side by side and adjust the length of metal chains according to the desired length (PIC 9,10,11).

5. Step five: Settings the stones using the "Setter FX" tool (PIC 12)

We will use this opportunity to introduce you to another tool: "Setter FX". You will thank us in a minute you will try to pick up the little crystals and place in the stone settings. With its wax head, the tool effectively lifts the crystals. Use its small handles to place the crystal into the setting (PIC 13,14).

To close and bend the prongs we are using the "Prongs pusher" tool (PIC 15).

Example of Earrings, Bracelet

We also glad to give you an examples how you can use Floral Cup chains in making earring, bracelets etc.

We combined our regular 39s Lever back earring base with bottom loop and cut of Cup chain.

Here you can see with components you need to make earrings with Floral cup chain and Swarovski crystals

Jewelry bases made with Floral Cup chain look stunning - it can be used in any occasion or you can ware it on your everyday life and it will only empathise your casual look.

Hope you enjoy ))))

Have fun creating!
